As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.
Yesterday, I wrote about the idea of social imagineering. I really like this idea and began to brain storm words that I could describe, what I was thinking. I came up with multiple words such as social innovators, social innovation, inventors, social engineering, all to try to describe the point. The point such as a tip where we are really in spaces of the unknown, thinking about what could be, and so on. The ideas are not new, its just I'm talking about thought from my own perspective and experience. But thoughts about thinking have progressed since the days of Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates. While one does engage in inner debates, talking, reasoning, and also to find ways of sharing what one has learned. Today we are placed at an advantageous point, where as we evolve as thought beings.
We are able to give back, but in ways that are congruent with what we believe, the values we hold, and the training that we have received. Examples include forms of service learning, working with various organizations, conducting research, or to assist others by developing students, sharing interests, ideas, and really preparing students for what they want to do. Such as to become entrepreneurs, seek jobs, or working on furthering academic life. While the imagineers take on the heavy bulk of the thought, steering social innovation, social imagineering never happens alone; in other words it happens with each other. Learning never ceases, however; when someone has reached the point of learning what needs to be known, what else can anyone ask for, but to serve?
