Social Imagineering

As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

     I have written about thought, what I think it is, and thought's value for the purpose of social innovation, social progress, and it's returns for the common good of society. I have also written about the value of possessing skills, specialized training that prepares individuals for industry, trade, and technical skills. Even though we can think of these categories and classes, with separations between each, there are actually common elements for the doer's and thinkers. There is thinking involved for the thinkers, and there is also the doing involved. The doing / action and the thinking are just done and thought at various degrees / levels. The difference also occurs where we see the results and outputs for the skilled, trades, technical person at a faster pace that that of the thinker. The pace of the thinker has often been criticized, not just at the present moment, but also at the historical level. 

As humans we tend to be result orientated, the thinker is doing, but it is not seen at the pace of the doer. The benefits of thought are seen at a much slower pace. For social innovation, progress, and growth we have to think and remember that some one has to do the thinking. It's like saying if you know that theres a pile of laundry or dishes, the chores won't get done, until someone decides to embrace them, and get them done. 

     In the same sense, if someone doesn't think about topics of concern, matters that need thought for development, then how will progress be shaped, or innovations take place? While once again I say there is much to appreciate for the variety of individual and group contribution, we must also continue to appreciate the work of the thinkers. Thought is the root of all growth. We must once again appreciate the gradual processes that are involved for this growth.
