As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

Yesterday was the anniversary of the September 11 attacks that took place in 2001. It has been seventeen years, where I still wonder and question why these attacks happened.  I thought about the number 17, where I was, the place in life, and the changes that have happened. I wondered about those who were born after the tragedies that took place in the USA, and how they respond to this day. Is this day significant for them or not? Then I thought about the memorials, and other memorials that exist such as those from war, or Pearl Harbor. What we are viewing today is history in the making, and the preserving of memories through the monuments. So those who were born after 9/11 can visit, learn, about the tragedy, similar to visiting war monuments.

I also wrote about going from an at war status to that of at peace, and the USA's foreign interests to establish and maintain peace, with nations around the world. I related these particularly to the region go Gaza, Palestine. And wished that the conflict stemming from religion would stop. Easier it is said than done, but will this fight last for eternity? If you ask me I think that the people fighting in this land, don't understand their own connectedness. Religion should not have been a mechanism to divide, but rather to unite.

We can link the tensions between Palestine and Israel to the closing of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. Whilst this announcement arrived at the sensitive time of the 9/11 anniversary, it also reveals how Governments constrain and control the movements of organizations. Should the USA Government have put a halt to efforts for achieving peace in this region? By shutting down efforts in its own nation? Or should the USA constantly be making moves to reassure Israel that they are on their side?

We can also think of the USA announcement ti raise awareness and assist Syria. Why is the Syrian cause more important than the Palestinian? The conflicts in both regions require resolve. Shutting down organizations, voices of individuals, simply sends a message of governmental control. Limiting movements, and freedom. These choices also reflect which relationships the USA values more.

By constantly re-assuring Israel that the USA is on their side shows the biases within a nation, that covers for the many crimes that Israel commits towards Palestinians on a daily basis, that are simply ignored because these are Palestinians and Muslims.

Happy New Year to Israel who celebrates with Rosh Rosh Hashanah, and To the Muslims who celebrate the beginning of the Islamic New Year with Muharram.

My thoughts to share with love & kindness! :)
