As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.
As we witnessed the cheers, clapping, accompanied with the opening of the U. S. Embassy in Israel, the scenes in Palestine were very different, to that of death and destruction. What can we say? What more is left to say when dozens of deaths go unnoticed by the international leaders, quickly, quietly shoved under the rug, so that agendas are not disrupted? This is exactly how I felt after hearing from the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations: Nikki Haley. Deeply disappointed. Her response exemplifies how diplomacy, and democratic exchanges can be used to mold narratives, that are shared to and for the Trump administrations agenda. Her words and even her actions, of not wanting to hear from the Palestinian representative, were that of a woman, who's ego is ready to burst.

What are the peace carriers for, or the diplomats for, when they are not able to hear the voices of each other? What are the peace carriers for, if they are not willing to listen to another's view? What does Nikki Haley stand for when she fully well knows that the events in GAZA represent a humanitarian crisis, and a human rights issue? Instead shifting the attention, and issue to that of blaming, noting Iran. Except that it should be known that Iran has as much interest in the Holy lands as any other Islamic nation. She has not only insulted her own intelligence, but also the intelligence of those listening to her. Her words, and actions convey the very view of the United Nations organization as a whole.
Just because the U.S. is the largest stakeholder in the United Nations organization, does it mean that the U.S. representatives should be able to use this advantage as power? No they shouldn't, because it violates what the core mission, and principle of the United Nations organization. Stakeholders are the providers of economic security, so that the organization is able to run effectively. The effectiveness should also include, allowing each country to be represented and heard at the level of equality, so that the mission, and vision of the organization is upheld.
Haley's response / action is deeply disappointing. We wonder what is left of peace, when we have representatives who let themselves down, and others to fool the public, and to fill the agendas prescribed by others.
My thoughts remain with the Palestinian's who's voices are purposely being silenced. Whilst the Trump administration has stirred up trouble for this region purposely. What else is left, but to remain hopeful that the people will rise to think better. I hope for a peaceful solution that is beneficial for both Israel and Palestine. This should include what the Palestinians are hopeful for as well.
