As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

The truth is that it is winter. Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm one of those individuals who caves in, likes to be wrapped up in blankets, and to keep warm. Winter is a challenging time for me. I'm sure that this is the case for many others as well, because of course the seasons affects us differently. It's not just because of my physical presence in Canada, but I was also like this in the UK. My mum and dad will probably tell you that I used to curl up in front of the heaters, even in temperatures not as harsh as those we are seeing today in North America. I think of how my body is affected through temperature, and I actually believe it is because of my South Asian ethnicity, tied to Pakistan. I'm sure ethnicity has got something to do with my bodily response to winter, everyone responds differently. My query could serve as a potential research question for anyone who is interested to learn about the connection between human reaction, ethnic origin, and weather.

My thoughts can be related to that of the physical environment. If we think about regions such as Houston, Texas, or Florida that is receiving some cold, freezing temperatures. It is an interesting weather pattern, that we are seeing. These areas are not used to the harsh temperatures. Not even the natural habitats that are contained in the affected areas. In Florida the freezing temperatures have caused the freezing of Iguanas falling from trees, from the Bomb Cyclone that has caused weather emergencies in some states in the USA. While the scenic beauty that is caused from the snowfall's and wintry weather is absolutely stunning, and beautiful, the harsh cold weather can also be deadly. The same can also be said for too much heat, rain, or any type of extreme weather. We hear of the homeless communities in Houston, Texas that are trying to keep warm from the bitter cold weather. There were even some homeless people who were found dead. What these weather patterns have indicated for these regions is preparation for future instances. It has also shown us that land, and regions depending on their physical location in the world are groomed for the natural habitats, environment, and populations. Just as human beings who are connected to particular lands, but also have to adjust due to the lands where they are born, migration, or immigration.
