As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.
The truth is that I was having a meta - cognitive moment this means, thinking about your own thinking. It is said to be the highest order of thinking. This moment is related to the thoughts that I wrote about with regards to Charlottesville. These protests were organized by White Supremacists, and were calling for white lives matter. Whilst this can be called home grown terrorism, and a violation of the very cherished values of America, we have to remember that everyone has a right to have their voice heard. This is called Freedom of Speech. However, as I mentioned yesterday Freedoms are only a freedom when they don't impinge or violate the rights of others.
I thought about the many responses and even the criticism that President Donald Trump received. I don't know about everyone else, but I like to listen to what others have to say before I give a response. Sometimes I will write down my thoughts until I am ready to respond, so I don't forget, part of the problem of having too many ideas. However, an action or re-action can differ when it is derived from the perspective of leadership. There will always be criticism.
There was one response which was also part of the meta - cognitive moment. This was the idea of loving thy neighbour as yourself. I can't remember who said this via Twitter yesterday, but I do remember reading this (I will update this as I remember). Love thy neighbour is an American value, and yes I agree that we should love our neighbours, this could be at the communal level, and also at the level of nations, who are neighbours with one another. However, to what extent?
The truth is that if one is constantly showing love to another, and this love in not returned, or is not reciprocated in one form or another, the love that is given can become exploited or a form of usury. For example: If an individual is lovely, caring, giving, helping, kind etc, others can simply be using this love without creating any type of relationship or friendship. It is exploitation and usury. We can think about these thoughts from the individual to the level of nation to nation.
Now I am not saying that there should be any type of expectancy, need or want when caring for others, but I am saying that there is also the case for human dignity, or the dignity of a nation. One should never allow the self to feel used or exploited. There is no expectancy, however it is at the very core and essence of human nature for healthy reciprocal relations.
Dedication: Once again these thoughts are dedicated to all who have been affected either physically or emotionally though the protests in Charlottesville.
Never allow anyone to step on our human dignity. My thoughts to share with love & kindness! :)
