The Robin

As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

Have you ever gone outside for a walk lately? No I don't mean the walk where we rush for the fast paced walk, so that we have burned off a few calories, or the walk where we might go to the grocery store because we forget to purchase something. I'm talking about the walk that we take, when we take the time to breathe in the sights and sounds, renew, refresh, and feel nature's elements upon our face, skin, and so on. Many of us who are going through the winter probably haven't had much of a chance to go out for a refreshing, relaxing walk, since this winter is lingering on, and doesn't want to leave until it's brutal signs are left upon us. All seasons possess their beauty, but as I have always written, weather is the best when it comes and goes within the appointed seasons. Of course weather will vary according to where you live, but the unusual weather patterns are really writing a narrative for itself. This winter has been particularly harsh, one where we have continued to be thankful for the resources that we have to keep us warm.

The harsh winter reminded me of the days where people would prepare for the winter seasons in the hope that that they would survive, and get through to the other side healthy, with minimal, or without any illness. These thoughts are especially relevant as this winter has proved one with impediments to the health. Thankfully nothing serious. Whilst it is not my intention to complain about the season of winter, it is my genuine concern about how a pro-longed season can affect human beings. When weather patterns become unusual, not only does this affect humans, including the elderly, young, and those already sick, but also the environment, habitats, and wildlife.

As I conclude these thoughts I remember the Robins who graced my walk. As they chirped, I wondered if they too were feeling confused about the lingering cold, or if they were revealing the hope of signs of spring. My thoughts to share with love & kindness! :)

Notes: These thoughts were originally hand written on April 8th, 2018.
