The Human Economy

As I close my eyes and drift away to a land
where there is love, health, peace and blessings. I wanted to take a moment to think and reflect. The truth is that I have been experiencing a great amount of perplexion as of late. I am deeply distressed about a new discovery that I have found.

So as I begin to write, I question and wonder about the human civilization. Can we put a price tag on societies or groups? Can we do this from the perspective of a human politic? I am thinking in monetary terms because we cannot simply ignore the economy. However, it is the intersection of the human value and economic value that is of concern.

For example: If an individual has an idea - He or she is so passionate about this idea, he / she is so passionate about this idea, that this individual will do whatever it takes to push forth this idea. To push this idea forward, it may require a certain amount of sacrifice. These could be found through time, effort, commitment, persistence. Sometimes the idea or passion will be acquired through a loss, a formulation of pain, through the sacrifices. This should not be taken as a negative because if you think about it. Does anything worth having in life come easy? Anything that you are passionate about, feel deeply connected with, and have a sense of desire will require time and patience. These goals are not always in the form of educational goals. It could be anything. From finding a fulfilling job, or just maintaining good health. However, I would like to intervene and think more from and educational perspective.

As we learn, come into an awareness. It is only natural that we want to act upon our learning. However, for learners, students, life long learners, and scholars a certain amount of patience is required. Ideas need time to evolve, to come into being. We need to allow the mind / brain time to think, time to explore. Sometimes these types of sacrifices go
unnoticed because they are intangible. They cannot be seen. The working begins with an internal procedure.

I have certainly felt this way. As much as I tried to think and remain patient, give myself time to develop my ideas - I could not rest with the sense of knowing, without a sense of doing. So this is why I started sharing my thoughts via our blog page. Simply to create an awareness. This does not mean that I wish I could not do more. The truth is, this is all I can manage at this time in my life in terms of knowledge mobilization. I don't want to discredit my studies, but I also want to share. This is a sacrifice that comes with learning. This a a sacrifice that is feasible at this moment in time.

We can also look at these thoughts in terms of a democracy. As politicians. Our concern is the people. We want to do what is good for the people. Yet, at the same time we want a flourishing economy,  where the demands of the public as a consumer are met.

Then I think and begin to wonder about large companies that are dominating the markets. I question and wonder. What kind of control do they have? Is their value so much that they are able to govern or control the actions of a political system? Should this be the case?

Whilst politicians recognize and value the contributions of business - we must also question how mush interference do we want from  companies that can aim to take control of political action. This interference has to be regulated in some sort of way or fashion, because the main aim of companies is profit. This is not to say that we do not acknowledge the contributions of the companies that are investing in the good of the people, through the political systems, and organizations. We care about a flourishing economy. Yet, we also have to care and value the needs of the people. Be respectful towards the path that they have chosen. We have to care about the good of the people.

Question:
How can we maintain a healthy sense of profit without compromising the human politic, the good of he people?

Responsibility
With the accrual of knowledge we are imposed with the implicit responsibly to share this knowledge. If we have learned something that we believe is of value and for the good of the people we have to share this. In the same sense with the accrual of money, there arrives the implicit responsibility of giving back for the good of others who are less fortunate,  and for good causes. This is the connection with gaining knowledge and money. Both arrive with a responsibility. Both arrive with a trust.

Dedication: My thoughts are dedicated to all human beings, You are valuable, you are amazing. Be You! My thoughts to share with love & kindness. Shazi :)
