The Civic Duty

As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

The truth is that once again we are hearing talk of President Trumps border wall, but this time the sending of troops along the U. S. / Mexico border wall. I have written a lot about this topic, but today I wanted to take a different angle. I was very pleased to read about the news stories about what is taking place alongside the border. Not in the sense that they are all good things  happening, but someone cared enough to find out the many dynamics that regarding the southern border. The reporters provided extensive coverage, and detailed many of the challenges, that surround the idea of building the border wall. So are we at a point of saying: To build a wall, or not to build a wall? If the answer was so simple, I don't think we would have have so much talking, and questioning surrounding the topic. But I think that when anyone thinks that there is a problem, we can also think of any so-called problem as am opportunity. A chance to use creative skill for the purposes of solving problems, or finding solutions. For example: we know that there are many individuals who flee to America through the U.S. / Mexico border. These individuals don't look back. All they think of is that they will have a chance at a better life. While some do, some don't. Maybe it is a stroke of luck? Or maybe it is the narratives that we hear at the national level, that are also a source of influence?

But what I am thinking about is that individuals who are seeking a better life will need the help of others, and they will need to use the services that are offered from the Government / community service organizations in America. While assisting marginalized, no-status, low-income, migrants, refugees, does arrive at a public-cost, the individuals who are being assisted are also keeping service workers, trained and highly trained professionals in business. As services need to be used, as well as those of other sectors, such as education, health, and so on. There is opportunity for those who are helping, and those who are being helped. But it also becomes a question for a nation. How far is a nation willing to stretch for the purposes of fulfilling civic duty, to care for those who enter your territories and lands?

My thoughts to share with love & kindness! :)
