Reflection | Rogers Cup! :)

As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

The truth is the other day I went to watch a live tennis match at the Aviva Centre, York University, Toronto. I shared my happiness through the following thoughts: Rogers Cup. After the tennis match I walked around, breathed in the atmosphere, and began to remember my time in Houston, Texas, New York, and Buffalo, NY. All times where I was able to watch soccer, and baseball games. With this remembrance also arrived the emotional attachments, linked to place and to the self. The deep craving of presence in the US once again surfaced. While many of you might ask why don't you go for a visit? But as simple as it was to move freely with my British Passport, I fell victim to the harsh brutality at the USA border, and barred from entering the USA without the USA approval through a visa application. This event absolutely shattered my heart, broke my soul to pieces, as I realized that Hispanic / Latinos are not the only ones subject to zero tolerance and cruelty.

While my heart continues to ache, I comforted myself with the memories I made, the individuals that I interacted with, the places I saw, and felt happy and blessed for my previous opportunities.

While freedoms are protected or restricted, some with true intentions, and some with wrongful decisions and errors. The irony is that while humans use their powers to protect, restrict, the actions of others, causing divides, and separations for alternate reasons, the memories that one has created cannot be erased. Memories are beautiful.

While the bitterness from the Customs and Border Patrol officers has somewhat healed, I cherish my memories, and once again hope to be united at the physical level, in heart and mind with the land I love.

As I remember the good memories, I continue to pray for unity within the nation of America. My thoughts to share with love & kindness! :)
