As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.
I was thinking about this tweet, and if you have been following along, or reading my previous thoughts you will probably know that I believe that human beings should possess, harness, and learn to cultivate desire from an intrinsic level, from within. But I also believe in the extrinsic; a healthy motivation that arrives from beyond the self. This could be in the form of a loving mentor, caring teachers, parents, coaches, or anyone who has an inspiring effect. There must be a healthy internal desire, but this is something that needs to be cultivated, and not everyone will possess the internal drive to do this, in other words there are individuals who need to be supported. This is also a quality that develops overtime, should one choose to develop this. However, there is more to this thought than formulating a healthy state when one is feeling alone. These states are also driven through culture, what a culture values, and the norms that are being cultivated. Western society is forged through the independent culture. We are groomed to be independent, learn to survive, and essentially make it in the big wide world. Whilst Eastern cultures are forged through a collectivist lens. Groups are formulated, and everyone looks out for each other, with the aim to contribute to each others success, or family goals. Whilst we can say that historically their have been different views from Eastern and Western perspectives, I also think that these views are becoming merged, meshed, entangled, so that there is a collection from both East and West. This can be attributed to migration, immigration, and also culture. As society grows, develops, there will be shifts in views, or what is valued. A good current example of this is when we hear of members of society supporting each other, through the various views that are being held, raised or called into our awareness.
Our thoughts, to invite and inspire. With Love & kindness. :)
