As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

The truth is that children and families have been separated, while once again we oppose violence against the vulnerable, we have to remember that these children, who are vulnerable minors need to be cared for. Policy, immigration, or zero tolerance is a matter that is now very separate, but inextricably linked to that of caring for the children. The separate matter does not diminish the importance of each, but right now at this moment, caring for the children a priority.

Beside the point of immigration, or tolerance's we have to think: during the reign of President Obama, there were children custodies, and there was also the practice of seperating children, but we rarely heard about this, because there was no media attention, or issues that were swept under the rug. This inconsistency reveals how the news media, also sways the public for the purposes of developing attitudes towards party politics. Behind the desperate cries of the children, are also issues of action, in-action rooted in politics. Party politics are at play here, if we choose to admit to this or not. We can see this from the response of the Mayor who spoke out on behalf of the city of Houston, and also the words on the back of the First Lady Melania Trump's jacket, which can be assumed to be a response back to his stance.

While emotions, rage, and party politics continue, I urge Houston to embrace these children, while the politics of their immigration, reuniting with families  and matters are handled separately. Houston can choose to take care of the children, and also protest. But to show that you have also put politics to the side, and put the vulnerable children first will also prove the best of a welcoming, proud, diverse, city.
