As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.
The truth is that I was taking the time to think about my previous thoughts. It is true that when we fight for our very last breaths, we will all be reminded of this fact, our common element of being human. Regardless of faith, ethnicity, race, gender, or ableism, at our crux - this is what we share, the fact that we are all human. Being human should not be something that we remember at our last breaths, or moments of contemplation, but something integral to our everyday thoughts. This common element should be what joins us through our differences. Being human should also not mean that we don't embrace our differences or faith, beliefs, practices, that we have chosen for our way of living, and life. Being human should mean that we embrace these, but also understand that every other human has a right to practice their own belief, lifestyle, or way of living. (providing that you are not hurting others through the process).
Embracing each others differences is an act of fostering understanding, and also building tolerance. Fostering understandings is also showing sensitivity to others. For example: During the time of Christmas, we know that this is a very special period for all those who celebrate. With extending our good wishes, and thoughts it is simply showing care, sensitivity, and thoughtfulness, to the faith, religion, and practices of others. It does not mean that your own beliefs or practices are hurt, when you show care for others celebrations. Tolerance, care, and sensitivity to faith and other religions is needed now more than ever. Individuals, migrants, immigrants want to feel that they belong to the lands that they travel to and from. Part of belonging is to foster love, care, and sensitivity to the beliefs, practices, and celebrations of others.
Dedication: The words of the human being are dedicated to all who love and cherish the season of Christmas. May there be love and peace. My thoughts to share with love & kindness, Shazi! :) These thoughts were originally hand written on December 29th, 2017. Image 1 - Web Link Image 2 - Web Link
