As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.
It is not easy to imagine a future, in fact I think that it takes guts, especially when harsh histories have existed, and the wounds that they have caused. We only need to ask a veteran, any one who has served, and is serving to understand what it is like to bear the wounds of war. But taking a step towards peace is also one that can ignite wounds, born for the purposes of another kind of bravery, and that is towards peace. Once again as I illustrated my previous thoughts with the example of Prince Harry and Ms. Megan Markle's wedding, this example also fits nicely here.
Britain also has a harsh history that is tied to the British colonization. While the colonizer's did bring benefits to the lands that were conquered, there was also brutality from the colonizers. Today as we witness the welcoming of a Princess to-be that us not white/caucasian, we see a woman who is half African-American. While there is a skeptical narrative that there are political elements tied to this wedding, there is also a positive, for a new princess of color. Of course the histories of British Colonization will not vanish with this wedding, but it is a step to reveal that races can co-exist alongside each other.
(Politics aside) It is with these thoughts that I also send out good wishes for the Royal Wedding that will take place tomorrow to all.
