Human Nation

As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

I think that the entire human being can be assimilated to a nation, planet or universe. When I say this I think about the many aspects of a human's life, and our very own existence. We can think about our primary needs for survival, which lead to secondary, tertiary and so on. These vary with the many stages of life that we go through. In the stages of life, or even the events take place in our life, that require significant life changes / alterations. The changes themselves also require our attention in terms of how we deal with the event(s). For instance: health factors, changes in relationships, changing one's environment, or economic challenges. All require adjustments. The adjustments may need interventions, or sometimes the individual is able to cope alone. But when one requires assistance, or needs to reach out for help, this is also a learning. Maybe a challenge for some, because of the desire to feel a sense of independence. But to ask for help / assistance is actually a courageous act, as one is allowing another to take some form of control. So we can see that whilst a human being is a tiny mortal in an entire nation /  universe - this universe is what makes the tiny human mortal.

In the same sense, we can relate the thoughts of the tiny mortal to that of a nation. Particularly a nation that needs assistance, or some sort of intervention, to help cope with human-made crisis that arise form political policy or natural / humanitarian disasters. It takes the same courage to reach out and ask for assistance, as the tiny mortal / human being. Most of the time we hear of foreign aid, or the need to provide assistance. But we also must think about blockades, or nations who resist assistance for foreign countries, even though the assistance is needed.

Similar to humans who may feel a sense of pride, shame, dependancy, so too will nations. But with nations we can think of national pride, or not wanting to depend on another nation. But what happens when nations know they cannot help their people and need help? The leaders themselves are causing hurt. This is where forced foreign interventions are necessary. In a similar way, when the human can no longer provide, or look after the self, there are times when interventions are needed, and one resists. Of course there are procedures to follow / guide the "forced" interventions as there are for nations. Foreign Governments can enforce charters. We can relate these thoughts to the current political crisis in Venezuela. Concerns to Maduro's anti-democratic behavior grew, chaos erupted, and now the poorest continue to suffer. We can think about how this human-made crisis can be reduced or even eliminated if political leaders sought to put their populations first. Similarly as the human who must care for the self, in order to care for others.

"Venezuela may not fit the traditional category of a country in humanitarian crisis because it has such large oil reserves, because it’s not highly dependent on foreign aid, and because it has not experienced some natural disaster. But it did experience a manmade disaster. So, the problems do rise to the humanitarian level in terms of the amount of suffering, particularly among the poorest parts of the population" (McCarthy, 2017).

As human being we have our different individuality. Each human has their own priorities in life. We even ask the purpose of our own existence. We even ask if there's really a powerful higher being than us. We strive our best to find the answers to the questions in our mind. Some of us forgot to be contented, we will do our best to achieve the goal we set for ourselves. But for me, being a human is to know how to love and care for another human.
