As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, joy, peace and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect. The truth is that I love to watch a movie sometimes, especially with my youngest daughter because she is the only one who will go to the cinema with me to watch animated and Disney films. I love them, especially fairy tales, because they allow to escape to a world of love, fantasy, hope, and beauty. I am not a fan of violent films (my preference). There is so much real violence that takes place everyday, why would I pay to watch more? But my thoughts do suggest that the violence that is sometimes depicted in the movies can be extrapolated as a story that is telling the truth. These thoughts are connected to those of the Golden Globe awards. As Hollywood comes together to celebrate their accomplishments, and art forms. I was deeply saddened by Meryl Streep's speech. Although it was packed with emotion and compassion, her political remarks poured dirt over any goodness that she hoped to achieve. Some of her remarks as follows: What she has done her is to demote one industry to acknowledge another industry. Her comments were hurtful because she has hurt the artists at the level of the macro. Whilst the space for her speech could have been used to celebrate her work, her accomplishments, maybe even share her interests, and to encourage artists. It became another attack on the American Political system. Another avenue to "brain wash" and sway the public opinion. An athlete is part of the art form. There are multiple parts that must also be put together in order for the athletic performances to take place, such as setting, ceremonies, dancers, musicians, camera, lights, action. There are so much efforts and supports that are needed, not only in the making of the dreams of the athletes, but also they are the dreams and sacrifices of all of the members who take part so that the athletic performance is a success, this is the symphony. A classic example are the beautiful opening, and closing ceremonies of the Olympic games. Just because one persons artistic form is not your preferred artistic form, it does not mean that you should use your power to destroy the dreams of others. Or hurt others, even the sporting talents that were present during the Golden Globe awards. You see, it's like what I said earlier. Everyone has a divine uniqueness about them. This is what separates each of us. It is what makes us different. This uniqueness should be celebrated, it should not be taken as I am better than you, or you are better than me.
