As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, joy, peace and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

The truth is that I have been taking the time to think about what the new year means for me. Whilst many set new year's resolutions, for me it is more about trying to do much of the same, but this year I hope to find time to re-claim myself as well. To be able to go in to nature, walking, running, and immerse myself in the outdoors. I find deep healing within the space of nature, and I want to find this again for my spiritual self.

With the newness of the year, I also began to reflect upon the previous year as well. The hurts of the loss of athletes, plane crashes, celebrity deaths, the constant shootings, and also the natural disasters. Whilst I don't want to dwell upon these, or remain in a space of sadness. Instead I ask everyone to think: What did we learn from these acts? Or from the cycle of violence? Did anyone gain anything?

If anything, everyone suffered a loss. This thought made me think about the concept of peace. Can peace truly be achieved through violence? When we introspect back into histories, and even the acts that I previously mentioned. What did anyone achieve? Throwing psychological arrows at one another, to prove that one power is more powerful than another? Or that one person is better than another?

To me the constant cycle of violence has revealed that no peace can be achieved through violence. Even if it tries to, it will leave the bitter wounds of the violence. An example of this thought is when the partition of India and Pakistan took place. Whilst leaders were happy to lead their new countries, it was the people that suffered. Families were torn apart, with some moved to Pakistan, and others staying in India. This is a historical example, but it can demonstrate the lasting effects of violence, from war torn countries.

As we shift to a world where people are demanding peace, maybe it is time to think about different ways of achieving peace. True peace is achieved through dialogue, and understandings, where leaders look out for the best interests of their people. War and violence should be the very least of an option, or the last resort.

These thoughts are also connected to the announcement on December 3rd, as Hillary and Bill Clinton, and George and Laura Bush announced that they would attend the inauguration of President  - Elect Donald Trump. This is great news. This is exactly what we need to see, leaders modelling that even though their views, and differences may be in an opposition, they still all share the common view and love for their country of America.

America is strong if it becomes more and more united. No force can come against you, because if you think about it, together the nation is stronger. It is like a family, the stronger the family unit, the least chances there will be of divides. As we move towards the inauguration of President - Elect Donald Trump with his new cabinet, there will be shifts, and changes. However, it is important to remember that his presidency + / - is, and will always be about the country that everyone loves - The United States Of America.

Dedication: God Bless America. My thoughts to share with love & kindness! :)
