"Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust" - Tinkerbell :) As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, joy, blessings, and peace. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect. Example: An example of my thoughts were when I shared tweets with the hashtag #HistoryED. I used this hashtag to share some facts about the historical facts between India and Pakistan. Whilst these two nations may be bitterly divided today because of the constant war between Kashmir. It is important to remember that these two countries as well as Bangladesh were all connected as one nation. Regardless of religion, cast, or creed, the people were living together in harmony. The tweets I shared were as follows:Today the Government of Pakistan has created a relationship with the Government of India so that people can enter Pakistan to visit and make pilgrimages to the holy sites.Another example is the rise of Islam in Africa. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) fled to Abyssinia because of the persecution from tribal leaders in Mecca. They (PBUH) (Plural is written as a form of respect) were welcomed by the Christian king. This example once again shows the deep historical connections of our histories. The Prophet Muhammad resided with the protection of the king in Abyssinia for six years, until safe to return to Medina, Saudia Arabia. For the purposes of peace we must seek a preservation for life, but also for the world we live in as well. These thoughts can be connected to the age old debate of Nature vs Nurture. It is a given that our human nature is affected by our human nurture. We are shaped by the environment that we live in. We also possess the ability to transcend the environments that we live in, to create better environments and also a better life style. So even if there is a debate, if you think about it on a deeper level, one cannot exist without the other. Also if there were no humans on the earth, then what is the point of earth? For Earth, we need humans, and for humans we need earth. There is a co - existent, and a co - dependance that we must nurture.Everyone possesses the ability to leave their mark, their foot print on the earth, however we must be mindful as to who and what we entrust the world to. What we choose to leave as our mark, and our foot print that can affect one human being or millions of human beings. We must create care about the message we desire to share. Our world is precious. We must be respectful to the histories, but also have an obligation to pave the way for the new. We can think about my thoughts at a micro level as well. When we have a family. There is a generation, another, then another and so on. Our grandparents, our parents desire to pass on their heritage to the next generation. In order to do so, it should not mean that we merely mirror the actions of the generations before us, but to also query and question how we can do better at the level of the microcosm, and household. |
