Hello Kim Jong Un

As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect. 

     The truth is that earlier this week there was an announcement that Kim Jong Un, leader of North Korea, had decided to arrange a meeting with President Trump. Exactly at the time of this announcement, I really did not know what to think., but when I heard that there was a letter delivered to The White House, all sorts of things popped up. I was so excited, it was like going back in time. Leaders would use the art of letter writing to talk to each other for dialogue, discussions, and to create understandings. This also reminded me of the letter that President Franklin D. Roosevelt wrote to Japanese Emperor Hirohito. Many people think that the letter was not delivered on time, but others think that the letter that was begging for peace, did not do anything that would have prevented the war.  

     This letter could have prevented the attack on Pearl Harbor, but who really knows. Nothing can really replace a good old fashioned letter, but if this letter was not received in time, then it also tells us about, how communications have improved. We can communicate at the level of instant. It is not the actual technology that is either good or bad, it really is about how we use technology. Anyway after the pang of excitements, traveling back in time, then we heard that there was no letter. But there was the anticipation of a meeting.

     At this point we really can't say much more, what the purpose is, the intention, and the outcome of the meeting is going to be, this is still to be determined. But I sincerely believe that a meeting between Kim Jong Un and President Trump will be a significant step. It could also act as a mechanism for peace, and who knows how this meeting will shape and affect the course of history. As we anticipate we can only hope the meeting will be a space to engage, and create understanding. And it is also a great example for the use of Soft Power from both leaders.
