Give Peace A Chance As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect. This time as I reflect, the land is full of war, of terror, destruction. Where is the love, where is the peace? The last three thought posts were focusing on health. As I mentioned, I think that the holidays are a great time to just be with family, and friends, It is also a great time to unwind, relax, renew and replenish the body, at the physical and spiritual level, if we are able to do so. I did not actually realize how mentally exhausted I was until the break. I am thinking that many people will probably feel the way I am and just don't open up about feeling this way. But lets put studying to the side for a minute, yes we do get tired from reading, writing papers etc, but these are also great spaces to grow our learning. What gets us as students, individuals, and society in general more exhausted and tired are the continuous strings of terror attacks. Especially in the last few days. Please Follow this link for a Time Line of Terror Events Three men were shot in the Islamic Center, Zurich Russian Ambassador to Turkey was shot at Ankara art gallery A large truck plowed through Berlin, Germany. This was a Christmas market, where 48 were injured and 12 were killed. In Jordon, 10 were killed and 34 wounded. Twin bombings in Afghanistan, where 4 people were wounded. Explosion in Mexico, leaves 35 dead Sugar Land, Houston, Texas - A fire, cause unknown Along with these attacks, there were also many incidents involving plane diversions, emergency landings. Shootings, car accidents etc. My tone may sound casual, and actually it is very sad, that it is casual because these types of attacks, and incidents have become "normal". It is almost as though the brain has become desensitized and accepted that this type of violence is a normal part of life. But as I sit here, and write, tired of the deadly violence. The only way I thought I could and would be able to grapple with the extent of this fatigue is to write about it. The truth is violence should not be accepted as a normal, and the fact that I was swaying to actually think in this way, is actually very scary. If everyone sits there in silence and let's this go on as usual, then the truth is that we have become guilty, just as the abuser. It is like the bystander effect. Can we allow this type of violence to continue, right before our know eyes, and remain silenced? As I heard about the attacks. I did not say much (via twitter), but as more and more attacks unfolded, I just realized and know it has to be terror groups fighting each other in the name of "scary monsters". No religion preaches bloodshed, and once again it is sad to see a peaceful religion of Islam be put to the forefront as a terrorist religion. It is not just the victims and families that suffer, it is also the after-math. Why should Muslims, who just want to live a simple, peaceful life have to be succumbed to the prejudice created by individuals who carry out terror acts on behalf of Governments, and Monarchies? The truth is the more deadly the act is, the more the one who carry out the attacks are paid. These individuals are paid for. You see after one attack, there was another, and then another and so on. It is simple karma (which is what I tweeted). If you do someone wrong intentionally, without the purity of the heart, then you will be wronged. If you do someone good with the purity of the heart, then you will also receive this good. Tough love can be included in the umbrella of unconditional love, because we are insisting on a learning, not in harming. The Turkey attack were a strategy to create bitter tensions as leaders gathered to discuss Syria. The Germany attacks were also a strategy, a revenge upon the Obama Administration who was knowingly negligent with the Syria crisis. In all of these attacks, I strongly condemn all of them, each and every one. I will also say that I am writing my words, these are truths to create an awareness. My pen is my power. This is what I have control of. How people react and respond to these words, this is not in my power. All of these destructive acts, and the leaders behind these groups who were committing these acts - need to re-think: Is it worth it? In wanting to save the human species, you are all destroying . Not just at the physical level, but also those who are left behind - the spiritual level. As I have said many times, it is not mother nature that is destroying earth, it is human nature. And it is also human nature that is destroying human beings. All the terror, envy, jealousy, greed, and the leaders who are not able to put their differences to the side. It is time to put these all to the side. Peace deserves a chance. Not just for the sake of my words, but for the sake of humanity. Concluding Thoughts: The Berlin attack, comes at the very precious time of Christmas. The is a precious time for Christians, and Muslims. I think that the attackers should have considered this because you have also soured to the relations between two very closely related faith groups. I would also like to take this moment to thank Russian President Valdimir Putin, who has also continued to negotiate for peace, regardless of the bitterness that was created through the attack in Ankara. With deep sorrow and regrets I share these thoughts, with the hope that they do not trigger a negative reactionary response, but a thoughtful response. Hearts unite for peace, unite for love. Dedication: The words of this being are dedicated to all beings, and to world leaders. I hope my words offer a point of reflection. Let us give peace a chance for the sake of humanity. My thoughts to share with love & kindness! :)
