Douma, Syria.

As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

The truth is that on April 4th, 2018 it was the one-year anniversary of the deadly, horrific Sarin gas attack that was unleashed on the people of a town called: Khan Sheikhoun, Syria. What was heart- breaking about these attacks was the way the human beings died. A slow death. Even as I write these words, my hand becomes numb, thinking of the horrors, the innocence of the victims that suffered. But as we paid our respects to a one year memory, we again hear of another chemical gas attack in the rebel-held suburb of Douma, east of Damascus, that occurred on April 7th, 2018. Once again innocent lives were lost. And once again a massacre that gains international attention, lots of justification as to why it should not of happened, but no action, no accountability.

I know that using force should be the utter last resort. Nations should actually be forced to think of this option, only and only when it is necessary. But what and how should one respond? In utter desperation of innocents who are someone's daughter, son, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, mother, father, grand-pa, grand-ma, friends, or loved ones, lost in an instant. Events horrific not only for the nation, but also for those who care enough. Once again to pick up the pen, to rally the cry to stop these deadly attacks. Stop using Muslims as targets. Stop the bloody hatred. If we think about what has happened this time, and if it is Russia allied with Israel who is claiming responsibility, once again we can say that such attacks are a war crime, and a crime against humanity. Whoever is responsible must be held accountable.

What bothers me the most is that how can countries such as Israel even seek to watch, hear, and remain silent about the gas / chemical attacks, when they very closely mimic the horrors of the Holocaust? They say the abused will always end up taking similar actions as their abuser, but the wise who are aware, will stop this from happening before entering into that realm. They also say: "an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind" (Gandhi).  But the Syrians were not responsible for the massacres, horrors, of the Holocaust, so why today - linked through the holy scriptures and texts, do they desire to kill Muslims, and re-create the trauma's of the Holocaust?

To all the victims who have suffered, lost lives: we send our love, prayer and condolences. May this suffering end, we wish this suffering upon no human being, no innocent child. May there be peace. May there be love.
