As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

It seems like there is so much comotion in Washington, with all the buzz of the presidential address, amidst a Government shutdown, however; I wanted to take a step back, and offer a comment upon the new speaker of the house, Nancy Pelosi. I wondered why a house minority leader would be elected speaker of the house as well? I question how her political beliefs would intersect with the role of being speaker of the house? We cannot say there will be no overlap or intersections, because without even thinking or questioning, we know that there will be overlap for sure. But what bothers me even more, is that Washington politics allowed for this to happen. Which contradicts previous political decisions. Such as the U.S. withdrawal from organizations such as UNESCO, and criticism of the UN, and the US mission to the UN. Particularly emphasizing the need for change within the organizations, as well as the biases found by the Trump administration.

Now I wonder further, what about the biases that will be
present within our democracy, and democratic exchanges? What about giving the voices of politicians an equal chance, without the presence of implicit, and the very explicit biases? These are derived and arrive from a Democratic house minority leader, who is also speaker of the house. To me, while there might be disagreements with the current administration, we have to remember that: just as we fight for the voiceless, marginalized, or the very cause of democracy; the very politicians that fight for the causes, raise awareness, and present the issues, must feel that their voice can be heard without the biases that are now present.

Of course we can commend the fact that a woman has attained the flagship role, but what about her oath ceremony? And her speech after taking the oath, as the 116th congress opened? Especially the assembly of children, with the following words:

What about all other segments of the population? Do they not matter? You see, you have to remember that the very children that are of course pivotal for the future, are also nurtured by care-givers, parents, guardians, and all the adults that they intersect with. Through their growth from childhood, youth, young adults and so on. Whilst I agree that children are born for the world, to leave a mark however, small or grand they choose. But I do feel that Nancy Pelosi discarded many segments of the population during her ceremony speech, What about the many women who can't, or don't want to bear children, should they be discarded? Or told that they do not matter? No, or course not. But in having heard what was said, sometimes if not most of the time, what is left unsaid, is probably heard much more loud and clear.

My thoughts to share with love & kindness! :)
