Courage To Hope.

As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

The truth is that on November 5th, 2017 the most deadly mass shooting occurred at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. After taking the time to digest the initial shock of this, I continue to question the motives as to why anyone would decide to intentionally kill individuals who are in the act of worship. I think about the father mourning the generations that he raised, wiped out in an instant. How is he coping? How is he living? To comprehend and imagine how the family, friends, and loved ones are feeling is unimaginable. We can relate these thoughts to any tragedy that includes the New York attack in New York city and Las Vegas.

As I write these words, it seems as though I continue to write, write, and write some more about the idea of peace. The tireless efforts continue. Yes, we do find ourselves in moments where we will loose hope, but we cannot loose the courage to loose hope, to even hope that there are and will be caring individuals who will continue to care for peace, and continue to care about the Earth, and World.

As I write, reflect, mourn, and pray for the healing of a nation, I continue to ask the question, is peace possible? Can peace happen? Can we simply take a moment and let go of the ego, stop the constant bickerings, and remind ourselves of the common understandings that we share? It is easy to get lost in this wanting for power and status. This desire can make us forget our human essence. The bottom line is that we all want to survive. If you want evidence or proof, then take a look at Maslow's hierarchy of needs, and you will see that the basic human need is - to survive, our physiological needs.

     In the search for peace,
our basic human essence, and our shared understandings, it is not for us to loose who we are, identify as, or let go of beliefs and values that we hold. It is to embrace our differences to understand, or even remember that our common goal is to survive. In other words, love each other.
