A Historical Thought.

"The Most Important Thing Is To Never Stop Questioning." Albert Einstein.

As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

The truth is that I remember during my early years of undergraduate classes, sometimes I would be grappling with truths, and learning about historical events that I wish I could wish away. An example is the learning of Colonial histories. As I learned about Colonization, I thought about how this history has had an impact upon beliefs, religion, culture, how we think, act, and behave. At the time of learning I did wish I could wish them away, but I came into a knowing and a sense of gladness, because without knowing how can we change or improve on anything?

We cannot erase harsh history, we can only learn from these, and hope that these types of methods of control don't repeat. This is also why I decided to observe Columbus Day peacefully to see how leaders, and groups would react or respond. Because with this day there is also controversy. Whilst we are grateful and glad for the American relationship with Italy, we must also seek to acknowledge the Native American populations, who deserve to be recognized on this day as well. On these historical days we should be reminded of everyone's struggle, and be grateful as to why we are able to utter words. These historical days should be seen as an opportunity for leaders to set a tone, a direction for a nation, because society is constantly shifting, growing, and innovating.

These thoughts can also be related
to that of the NFL protests which I have written about earlier. I continue to oppose these and don't think it is a flag that should be disrespected, or a game used as a spectacle to show your personal belief. Players do have a leverage. This leverage needs to be taken to the right avenue. Why don't players take their protest to their local officials, or Government representatives? What is happening is a game being used as a quick, fast way to create uproar and spectacle. And we can even wonder that players might be paid to protest on behalf of a team or team owners?
