A Case For Love

As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, joy, peace and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect.

The truth is that I was taking the time to think about the concept of love. What is love? I remember the time when I first began to share my thoughts via my website. I wrote a post about this topic, as much as I questioned about love, love continued to remain an abstract concept. We can use words, images, ideas, thoughts to describe love, but it cannot be contained, it is boundless.

Abstract

On a different note, I was wondering about the idea of love. Does it seem odd that I am talking about love?  It is not Valentine's Day or anything, right? We are born through love (I am referring to a normal biological birth, although any form of IVF treatments, adoption, foster care, etc also constitute within this realm because the intent is love / reproduction / family / children). We are born through love, yet there are divisions and divides in relationships. We fail to remember the very core of our presence, the essence of our being. We work, strive, compete, more, more, more, and this is when the divisions arrive.

What if we were to remove this more, more, more, or want this or want that, and simply love those for who they are? Or what if we removed this idea of more, more, more, and strive to help each other as much as our capabilities allow us to help each other achieve their goals? This could simply be done with a caring word, a smile, or a showing of empathy to one another.

Regardless of the divisions, divides that are socially constructed, what if we were to remind ourselves of the very essence of our being? And remember that we are all united as humans, we are a human family, trying to create for the purposes of social upheaval. What if we were to unite in a brotherhood and a sisterhood, to strive for the vision of peace? And love without an expectancy of a return? Can we love at the level of self - less? Can we be loving and caring at the level of unconditional?

Dedication: As I once before mentioned, I had many posts, almost 2 years of work that I was pressured to delete. Today I write a case for love once more, which I hope to write / think about further. My thoughts to share with love & kindness! :)

Notes: These thoughts were originally hand - written on March 14th, 2017.
