As I close my eyes and drift away to a land where there is love, health, peace, and blessings. I wanted to take the time to think and reflect. The truth is that I have been taking the time to think and reflect about some of the reactions and thoughts that have spurred form the third Presidential debate, with regards to the "Nasty Woman" comment. This thought spurred an increase of "Nasty Woman" products as well as #'s via twitter, and has also created a space for a conversation. I am not a feminist, actually I am quite grateful and happy that I am not. When a woman who considers herself to be a feminist, who wants to be on par with the male gender - for better or for worse, then I think that women must also be held accountable just as men would be for their thoughts and actions. This is not to say that I do not believe in women's equality. Which I do. Women's voice deserves attention. I also believe in the value of the male voice as well. The human family is made up of all genders. Therefore, all genders must be honored. So if women are going to step up - and call themselves feminists, and if there actions, thoughts are perceived negatively, then the same consequence that is given to a male should be allocated. It is only fair. You can't say that you want to be on par with another gender only to accept the good points. Historically Women have struggled to obtain rights. Present Women have obtained many rights Future As much as women have obtained many rights, it does not mean that there is still not more work to be done. However, does it mean that women have to rise up to an extreme? Can we not say that it is time for integration, rather than extremism. Any form of extremism is unbalanced. This point can be connected to our human body. If we eat too much of something (extreme) it will negatively impact our body, therefore we must maintain a healthy balance. A woman's voice must be heard A man's voice must be heard Voices must be heard to create a synergistic blend.
